Plenty of spring-time MTT action at online poker tables in Ontario
What's New In Ontario Poker?
The action doesn't let up in Ontario as it seems like there is always a series of MTT's to play. We had a very busy April with Pokerstars ONSCOOP, 888Poker's The Festival Online and the Bwin Ontario Poker Championships, which had all followed up a massive March with the WSOP.ca Spring Circuit. With all that tournament action behind us, some would think maybe Ontario tourney grinders might get to take a rest until Summer. But in the Ontario poker tournament scene, there are no breaks. Soon came the GGPoker Ontario Festival running now until June 4. Now there is two more sites vying for your screen space over the next little while. Here's whats coming up next;
Pokerstars Ontario Bounty Builder Weekend.
As a kind of throwback to the recent Bounty Builder Series they held in March, Stars is holding a Bounty Builder Weekend which is being pitched as "24 thrilling PKO tourneys. Buy-ins from $20-$250. $220,000 guaranteed prize money." It looks like its mostly the regular schedule but with everything in PKO format. It starts today and runs through Sunday with the $100 Sunday Special 45k GTD PKO being the highlight of the bunch.
888Poker Spring XL Series
The XL Spring Series starts this Sunday May 21 and runs until June 5th. There is $350,000 in guaranteed prizes. There is a mix of regular MTTs, PKO's and Mystery Bounty's in the schedule culminating in the $250 buy-in $75,000 guaranteed main event with Day 1s beginning on Wednesday May 31, and running through June 4th, with the final being played out on Monday the 5th of June. Other key high value events include the $40,000 guaranteed Mystery Bounty Main Event for $109, with Day 1s starting May 24 and Day 2 on Monday the 29th and the $109 buy-in $30,000 GTD opening ceremony held this Sunday May 21 alongside the $525 Highroller with $15,000 in the prizepool. It ought to be a hard fought series and I'm personally hoping I can take down another Main Event win in an 888 series after binking the last one. 888 has plenty of satellites running for these events and they often overlay. I tell aspiring players to start on 888 because the games are easier to beat and there is so much value on the site, with the especially robust freeroll lineup. Get in there and I hope to see you at the tables in the XL series.
